The Robotic Urology Observership in Turkey is designed for urologists, residents and fellows who want to observe contemporary robotic urologic surgery in a real clinical environment.
Participants can gain exposure to Multiport and Single-Port robotic surgery, surgical planning, operating room workflow and advanced robotic urology procedures alongside experienced faculty.
Programs can be tailored according to your professional background, areas of interest, preferred dates and training goals.
Observe contemporary robotic urology workflows, surgical planning and operative decision-making alongside experienced faculty.
Established robotic approaches and operating room workflow.
Exposure to Single-Port access, instrumentation and case selection when available.
Structured observation of real clinical practice.
Flexible programs, 1 week to 1 year.
Designed for local and international urologists.
A robotic urology observership is a structured educational experience that allows visiting physicians to observe robotic surgical procedures and clinical workflows without directly participating in patient care.
The experience extends beyond watching an operation. Depending on the program and clinical schedule, participants may observe patient selection, preoperative planning, operating room preparation, surgical technique, intraoperative decision-making and postoperative management.
The program is primarily designed for physicians who want structured exposure to contemporary robotic urology.
Previous robotic surgery experience is not necessarily required. The program can be adapted according to the participant’s experience and educational objectives.
Participants may select a primary area of interest while also gaining exposure to other robotic procedures when the clinical schedule allows.
Observe robot-assisted radical prostatectomy with emphasis on surgical anatomy, operative planning, dissection, nerve-sparing strategies and reconstruction.
Gain exposure to robotic nephron-sparing surgery, including surgical planning, tumor localization, renal hilar management, tumor excision and reconstruction.
Observe selected robotic radical cystectomy procedures and gain insight into the workflow and strategies involved in complex robotic oncologic surgery.
Observe Single-Port robotic urologic surgery and explore differences in surgical access, instrumentation and workflow compared with conventional Multiport approaches.
Observe established Multiport robotic techniques, including port configuration, robotic docking, instrument strategy and operative workflow.
Clinical exposure depends on the selected program, faculty schedule and available cases. Participants may have the opportunity to observe:
The Academy provides educational exposure to contemporary robotic approaches, including Multiport and Single-Port robotic surgery, depending on platform availability and scheduled cases.
Participants can observe differences in surgical access, instrumentation, port configuration, workflow and case selection.
This can be particularly valuable for urologists who are beginning robotic surgery or considering expanding their robotic surgical practice.
Observership programs can be organized according to the participant’s objectives and availability.
Focused exposure to robotic surgery, operating room workflow and selected procedures.
Broader exposure to different cases, techniques and faculty discussions.
More comprehensive observation of robotic urology practice over an extended period.
Individualized longer-term programs may be considered according to educational objectives, availability and institutional arrangements.
An observership focuses on observing real clinical practice. Participants do not perform surgical procedures on patients.
Urologists who also want practical skills development can explore Simulation Training, Dry Lab Training, Wet Tissue Training and Live Animal Lab Training.
Where appropriate and available, observership and practical training can be combined into a customized educational pathway.
The program welcomes urologists, residents and fellows from different countries who are interested in robotic surgery education in Turkey.
Depending on individual requirements, participants can receive information regarding program scheduling, application documentation, accommodation options, local transportation and other practical arrangements.
Visa, licensing and institutional requirements may vary according to nationality and program structure.
Program dates are arranged according to clinical availability and the participant’s training objectives.
Participants will be informed about the documents required for their selected program.
Visa, travel and accommodation arrangements are the responsibility of the participant.
Turkey has substantial experience in minimally invasive and robotic urologic surgery and is easily accessible from Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia, North Africa and surrounding regions.
Istanbul is also a major international travel hub, making short- and medium-term educational visits practical for physicians travelling from many countries.
Combined with experienced robotic surgeons and diverse training opportunities, this makes Turkey an attractive destination for international robotic urology education.

No. Observership programs can be suitable for physicians at different stages of robotic surgery experience.
No. An observership is observational and does not provide clinical privileges or authorization to perform procedures on patients.
Potentially yes, depending on the selected program, robotic platform availability and clinical schedule.
Potential exposure may include robotic prostatectomy, partial nephrectomy, radical cystectomy and other robotic urologic procedures according to scheduled cases.
Yes. You can indicate a primary area of interest when applying. When possible, the program can be planned with greater emphasis on that procedure.
Programs can range from one week to several months. The appropriate duration depends on your experience, objectives and availability.
Yes, where available. Clinical observation may be combined with simulation, dry lab, wet tissue or live animal lab training.
